We are salivating at the prospect of supporting this year’s CHRISTMAS LECTURES with an I’m a Scientist ‘The Truth About Food’ Debate Kit, and activity theme running from 6 January 2025.
Here’s what’s happening and how you can be part of it!
From January to July 2024, we introduced a new, flexible format for I’m a Scientist.
Teachers could choose a theme that fit their curriculum, but the discussions remained entirely student-led.
In celebration of Earth Day, we ran a series of themed Chats to get people talking about environmental issues and climate change.
Chats connected students with scientists developing and using technologies to help solve the climate crisis.
They discussed the environment, plastics, climate change, and the role of scientific research in addressing these challenges.
Our British Science Week 2024 event has come to a close, and what a week it was! Over 5 days, 68 schools engaged in 191 Chats, exchanging an impressive 63,023 lines of Chat. With so much going on, it’s hard to narrow down the highlights, but we’ve rounded up some of the mods’ favourite moments to share with you.
The diversity of participants made the week special. 246 scientists took part, each with unique careers and stories. Careers were a hot topic among students, from those with clear goals to others seeking tips on where to start. Continue reading
