Hiya, my name is Viviene and I used to work with big, powerful lasers, and automation but now I focus on lasers for space (internet in space maybe?) and sometimes work on lasers that could be used for healthcare. I am a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and show people around the Open University’s observatory.
I lead a tour company taking people all over the world to see astronomical events such as eclipses, aurorae, meteor showers.
I now take education groups on visits to the National Museum of Computing located at Bletchley Park. I have my own Enigma machine

I am married and I live in Burton-on-Trent, although I am originally from Buxton. I have a step-daughter and a granddaughter, and I love spending time with them.
