Students at schools around the UK, from Kent to Dundee to Antrim, joined us in celebrating Chemistry Week this year. Thank you to everyone who got involved!
Across 18 Chats, over 250 students from 14 different schools explored how chemistry shapes the world around them. 41 scientists using chemistry in their everyday work took part, to connect with classes from Year 5 to post-16.

Over the week, students connected with scientists working in a wide range of roles, from climate research to food production, materials science, and space exploration.
Across 16 Chats, over 250 students connected with 44 different scientists working in green careers.
The Activity Summary Report (May to July 2025) for the I’m a… programme of events has been published.
This report looks at activity across the I’m a… programme during the Summer 2024/25 term, including: I’m a Scientist, I’m a Computer Scientist, I’m a Mathematician, and I’m an Engineer.
Thanks to new funding from the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), there’s now even more on offer from I’m a Scientist. Increased capacity makes a big difference, so we’re ‘physched’ to have STFC onboard.

The Academy is returning in November 2024!
The Academy is a short CPD course for STEM professionals that runs alongside the I’m a… student engagement activities. It’s a great opportunity to reflect on your outreach experience while learning more about audience, media, and science capital.
