I live in Liverpool. Liverpool is my favorite city of the UK, as i think it is super cool here. I grew up in Germany and my dad is Mediterranean. I came to the UK about 15 years ago to complete my Doctorate in Experimental Psychology at Oxford University. I was then a psychology lecturer at Plymouth University and now am a Senior Lecturer in Liverpool John Moores University.
In my freetime i like shopping for clothes; i also like eating out and spaghetti bolognes is my favorite food. I love the football – and LFC off course! I read a lot, fiction novels, science fiction, but also about psychology.
I am very happy to be able to have my dream career and be able to research human behaviour and also how our human brain operates

My research is about social psychology and neuroscience mostly. For example i am looking at how people respond in social groups (in-and-outgroup). Why people are helping others – or why they are not. I also look into how people decide what is morally good and bad. And i am using lots of different methods to do this; for example brain imaging, and also immersive virtual reality.

My Typical Day:
I get up at 7.11. Then i tidy up the flat. I am then doing sports for about 30 min. Then it takes me about 1h to get ready (I can never decide what to wear and to match make-up etc. etc.). At work i respond to student emails, i teach lectures (i really enjoy doing this), and i also help students with their own research projects, sometimes in the Virtual Reality laboratory. When i get home, i’ll have some spaghetti and diet coke and watch TV.

I teach undergraduate and graduate psychology students. I meet them in large lecture theaters where i give a lecture to them. But i also meet them in small group tutorials and we are then together discussing their ideas. I also mark their coursework and their exams. They can do an individual research project in their final year about their own idea and i help them with this too. In my research i supervise students giving psychological tests and questionnaires to people to find out more about how they think and feel.
