About Me:
I’m a research physicist, and have lived and worked in many countries of the world. I interact a lot with artists, and love giving lectures to all kinds of audiences. I also make jewelry.
-
My Work:
I work in many different areas of physics, from quantum sensing to atomic physics, with the goal of testing what is considered to be known to searching for explanations of known mysteries.

The different experiments I am involved in all have a simple goal: discover a flaw in our understanding of the universe that could go towards explaining the mysteries that we observe (dark matter, dark energy, absence of antimatter in the universe). This involves inventing and building new systems, coming up with new ideas on how to test what we are convinced is correct, and generally combining many different fields. What hasn’t been discovered yet is usually hiding in the cracks 😉
And then there’s the other stuff: I’m member of CERN’s harassment investigation panel, I’m one of several editors of a physics journal, I’m involved in brain-storming about some of CERN’s public events (TEDxCERN or the new Sparks! series on AI, the future of medicine, …), I get invited to talk at art events, at art-tech conferences, to write reviews of books, and to interact with artists that come to CERN, I lecture to physics students, I sometimes get asked to try to help define research policies for the coming decades.
