I live in Cardiff and have done for the past 2 years! Time flies! I am here undertaking my PhD. Cardiff is beautiful and fun-filled – I often go to the rugby and football, go to gigs and can be seen exploring the Welsh countryside! I previously lived in Bristol for 4 years prior to that where I completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry with Study in Industry. I don’t originate from either of these lands though! I am originally from South-East England in a little town called East Grinstead, famous for McIndoe and being inhabited by Adele and Peter Andre!
I have a diversity of hobbies including going to the gym, trampolining, reading and travelling. I frequently go to gigs and love music!

I work with children and adolescents that have a rare genetic syndrome. They have a chromosomal disorder where a little bit of their 22nd chromosome is missing. Basically, this means that these children have some bits missing in their DNA. DNA makes us who we are. Some people can have a little extra DNA and other less than the ‘norm’. The missing bit of DNA means that these children have a lot of problems both physically and with their brains and behaviour. I look at sleep in these children as it can be very difficult for them to sleep.
-
My Typical Day:
Scrolling through pages of squiggly lines which is supposed to be someones brain activity whilst they are sleeping!
