CV

• Education:

  I moved from Bulgaria to the UK when I was 17.

  I went to City and Islington Sixth Form in London. This was a very useful experience to get used to the British educational system! Also I learnt how to do science in English, which was fun.

  Then, I attended the University of Edinburgh. I graduated this year! I loved this experience as I got to learn so much and do research projects.

• Qualifications:

  I have a Bulgarian high school diploma.

  When I moved to the UK, I got a GCSE in English Language, which was required. I also did A-levels in Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry. Doing four subjects kept me very busy, but I did learn a lot!

  This year I got a degree in Physics, called an Integrated Masters. This means that I combined doing a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree into one thing.

  Doing an integrated masters was very useful for me! It gave me time to do all of the courses I wanted, and to stay in Scotland for longer, which I loved. Also funding-wise, it counts as one degree, which made it easier with finances.

• Work History:

  I worked part-time during term time and full-time during the summers to support myself while at university. I worked as a cleaner, then in various communications and social media jobs. My last job was as an administrator for IT projects at my university and I did that for almost 2 years!

• Current Job:

  PhD student in Physics (basically, a trainee researcher)
