What’s happening this June?

I’m a Scientist and I’m an Engineer are returning this June, to show school students across the UK a slice of real science and engineering. We are also launching I’m a Medic, introducing students to the range of careers in primary healthcare and General Practice.

For two weeks between Monday 12th and Friday 23rd June students all over the UK will be able to ask questions to, and take part in live text-based chats with real scientists, engineers and healthcare professionals in the online events. Students then vote for their favourite to win £500 to spend on further STEM engagement.

The online nature of the event helps to give all students a voice, and encourages students to ask the questions they might not be confident asking in front of the whole class. Students see that scientists, engineers and professionals in primary healthcare are normal people, while being introduced the wide range of possibilities in STEM careers; it’s not all hard hats and white coats.

All the details of the different themed zones running this June are below, together with links and details of where to apply. For more information on any of the projects running this June, contact michaela@mangorol.la, or call 01225 326 892.
