Event now over for 2010
If you want to sign up for 2011, more info for scientists and for teachers
I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of £500 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
Only students, teachers and scientists who are taking part in the event can talk on the site, but everyone is welcome to look around and see what’s happening.
This June the event was bigger than ever before, with 20 zones! There’s five scientists in each zone, talking to 20 classes of students. So that’s 100 scientists and 5,000 students altogether this June.
Ten zones are general, with scientists working on all different topics. Ten zones are themed, where the scientists’ work all overlaps in some way. There’s a list of all the zones below – dive in and have a look!
